Today I went to one of Tom Smith’s Art History sessions. Tom was looking at Baroque and specifically the work of Bernini, a sculptor which I’d come across but which I’d dismissed as not my cup of tea. However Tom opened my eyes to some of his superb work. Just look at the hand and thigh above – in cold, hard marble!
