No 195 Masaccio


“What you are I once was, what I am you will become.” Masaccio, who was born on 21st December 1401.

Masaccio used this Roman epitaph on his fresco The Holy Trinity. Strictly  speaking, therefore, it isn’t his quote. Nevertheless it gives Y Prior an opportunity to give us Happy Birthday in Latin!
