    Yes, this speaks some truth. Thanks for sharing.

    • It’s more of an education quote than an art quote but as Albers was an art teacher I thought it would still fit. I also liked this quote: “Instead of art I have taught philosophy. Though technique for me is a big word, I never have taught how to paint. All my doing was to make people to see.”

    My grandmother had an art class from him.

    • I’d be interested to know what he was like as a teacher. Some of his quotes seem to be in very broken English and I picture him with a very strong German accent with the students trying to understand him.

        Unfortunately I never found out anything about her experience with him. She died back in 1996 on the cusp of 104, prior to my push into becoming an artist.
